How to Prepare Your Driveway for Dumpster Delivery
Clear a 12 x 8 foot spot, leave room for the truck, check overhead clearance and protect your surface. A quick pre-delivery checklist.
Pick the spot
Our dumpsters all sit on a 12 ft x 8 ft footprint. Choose a flat, firm spot close to where you will be working so you are not wheeling debris across the yard.
Leave room for the truck
The delivery truck needs a clear path in and room to set the dumpster down. Move cars, trailers, kayaks and trash bins out of the way the night before.
Look up
Check for low wires, gutters and tree branches over the spot and along the approach. If anything looks tight, tell us in your booking notes or call.
Protect your surface
Some homeowners lay plywood boards where the dumpster will rest, especially on newer asphalt. Mention it when you book so we can plan placement with you.
Street placement
If the driveway will not work and the dumpster needs to go on the street, check with your town first. Some towns require a permit for anything placed in the road.
