Dumpster Rental for Garage Demolition
Taking down a garage creates a lot of debris in a hurry. How to size and plan a dumpster for a garage or shed teardown.
Which size
Most small detached garage and shed teardowns call for our 20 yard: 12 ft x 8 ft x 6 ft, about 8 pickup truck loads.
What goes in
Wood framing, siding, drywall, roofing materials and general construction debris are generally accepted.
What stays out
The concrete slab and any bricks or block are not accepted, and neither is soil. Old paint, fuel and chemicals left in the garage need separate disposal.
Plan the week
Empty the garage first. Then strip the roof, take down walls in sections, and cut long pieces so they lie flat. Flat-packed debris takes far less space.
